Fiya

While working as an Architectural Designer for Berman Design, local restauranteurs Mark Bires and Mindy Freidler approached us to rebrand their current sandwich shop Jerry's in Andersonville. The new concept, Fiya Restaurant & Bar, was inspired by the couple's recent trip to Israel. 

The new dining room design was focused around the central island, which references a ship with the bow facing the street - a nod to Tel Aviv. Let that sink in... A boat that’s an island. 

 

The new island is the heart of Fiya’s customer experience, with a wood fire oven and simple, geometric pendants over the central action. The sculptural bar accommodates high bar seating to the South and low seating to the North, matching the existing conditions of the adjacent seating.

Colors and surfaces reference the Middle East and Tel Aviv with earthy exposed masonry, vibrant blues of the Mediterranean, and stark white referencing the Bauhaus Modernist tradition of Tel Aviv.
